Swiss Competition Commission approves the creation of hydrogen joint-venture Swiss H2 Generation SA between Groupe E and ENGIE

Lenz & Staehelin assisted Groupe E SA and ENGIE Services AG in the merger control procedure relating to the creation of Swiss H2 Generation SA. This new joint-venture, which has been approved by the Swiss Competition Commission in December 2019, will be active in the production and distribution of green hydrogen for use in the field of mobility and in the industrial sector as well as the storage of renewable energy in view of subsequent conversion in heat or electricity.

The team was led by partner Benoît Merkt (Competition) and included Johana Cau and Benjamin Moret (both Competition) as well as Federico Trabaldo Togna (Corporate and M&A).
