New Counsel: Philipp Jermann and Laurence Vogt Scholler
We have pleasure in informing you that Philipp Jermann and Laurence Vogt Scholler became counsel of our firm on 1 January 2013.
Philipp Jermann graduated from the University of St. Gallen. He was admitted to the bar and completed his doctoral thesis in 2001. After obtaining an LL.M. from Northwestern University (Chicago), he joined the Zurich office of Lenz & Staehelin in 2004. Philipp Jermann specialises in financial market laws and advises insurance and reinsurance companies in all regulatory and transactional matters including M&A transactions as well as banks, securities dealers and investment companies in contract and supervision matters. Further preferred areas of practice include technology law and outsourcing transactions of all kind (infrastructure, business processes, strategic cooperations).
After graduating from the University of Neuchâtel, Laurence Vogt Scholler was admitted to the Bern bar in 2000. The five years she spent working in legal and compliance at Credit Suisse in Zurich, Hong Kong and Geneva allowed her to acquire international experience and an expertise in the banking field. Laurence Vogt Scholler joined our banking and finance practice group in 2006. She advises clients from the banking and asset management sectors, as well as Swiss and foreign collective investment schemes, on regulatory, contractual and corporate issues, with a special focus on the structure of collective investment schemes and fund managers, as well as their authorisation by the supervisory authorities. Her areas of expertise also include anti-money laundering regulations.
