Settlement between EBRD, Mr. Roman Abramovich and Mr. Eugene Shvidler

On June 12, 2018, the proceedings between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mr. Roman Abramovich, Mr. Eugene Shvidler and Gazprom Neft PJSC before the Tribunal de l’arrondissement de la Sarine in Fribourg were terminated by mutual consent of all parties involved, following a settlement between EBRD, Mr. Roman Abramovich and Mr. Eugene Shvidler, the terms of which are confidential.

With this agreement, the parties have settled a dispute that has lasted for over 13 years before Swiss courts. Lenz & Staehelin was advising and acting for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the court proceedings and the settlement. The team was headed by Martin Burkhardt (Litigation) and included Peter Ling as well as external counsels Daniel Schneuwly (Schneuwly Sahli) in Fribourg and Julien Perrin (LPPV) in Lausanne.
